Can't find what you're looking for? Perhaps this page will explain why, or help you find it. Add to cart, thrink tubing, silver cables, HDMI, subwoofer cables, REL cables, etc.. Why Can't I Find...? Things you won't find on this site, and why. Sometimes we hear from people telling us that they're unable to find something that they're looking for on our website. It may be because they're looking in the wrong place. Or it may be because we don't have it. Or sell it. Or do it. This page lists the things some people are looking for on our site, but that they'll never ever find. Like, ever. If you're looking for discontinued and out-of-production products, please click here . An "Add to cart" button, a shopping cart, a buy now button, etc. This is not an e-commerce site . This is an informational site, with details about our products, links to contact us for more information, and a list of all of our dealers (physical & online) and distributors. We don't sell directly on this site, or otherwise. Please click here for our dealer list. Heat shrink We use heat shrink tubing on most of our cables, however we buy it at retail, and so should you. You don't want to buy it from us. N or can you. H eat shrink with the Cardas logo We understand that some people re-terminate their own cables, and would like to retain the factory look by applying heat shrink featuring the Cardas logo. However, we reserve this printed heat shrink for ourselves, to indicate that the re-termination or repair was performed at our factory, thus retaining the lifetime warranty. There are some online retailers, notably on less than scrupulous websites, offering what appears to be our logo'd shrink tubing. But it's counterfeit. Don't buy it. If you do your own repair or re-termination on a Cardas cable, own it. Be proud of your work. Don't pretend we did it. N eutrik XLRs, Furutech power connectors, and other non-Cardas brand connectors. As with heat-shrink, we buy these parts at retail, and so should you. Headphone connectors for HiFiMan, Dan Clark Audio, Audeze, Focal, etc. With the exception of Sennheiser HD800 & HD600/650 plugs, we don't make our own headphone connectors. If we don't make a connector, and have to buy it from another parts suppliers, we don't re-sell them. Bulk power cable, un-terminated power cables, or partially terminated power cables. The liability is just too high. A n incorrectly wired DIY speaker or interconnect cable will, at worst blow an amp, or at best, just not work. But an improperly wired power cable... we don't want to even think about it. A power, speaker, interconnect, or digital cable, that uses silver conductors. We produce extremely high quality silver wire, and it is used extensively in the audio industry. However, we do not use it ourselves. All of our cables use copper conductors. Why? In our experience, a well designed copper cable (such as a Cardas cable) will outperform (ie, sound better) than a silver cable. And cost a fraction of the price. Grounding posts / Ground posts We used to produce a grounding post. It was basically a small binding post. However sales were slow , and we realized that most manufacturers were simply buying our standard speaker binding posts to use as grounding posts. So we decided to discontinue the grounding post. We no longer offer a Cardas HDMI cable. Audio is our expertise, and we focus on that. Subwoofer cables Most subwoofers are connected with an interconnect. Some take a high-level speaker connection. There are a variety of Cardas cables that can be used in this application. Our cables most commonly used with subwoofers are Crosslink , Iridium , and Parsec . Any of our Phono cables can be configured for use w ith a REL su bwoofer. Speaker Pins We used to make a speaker pin, called the CNDP. A speaker pin is basically a solder cup attached to a silver/rhodium plated brass pin. Demand for speaker pins did not justify reproducing them when inventory ran low, so we discontinued the part. If you are a manufacturer in need of at least 2000 Cardas speaker pins, please contact us about producing a batch all for you. If you're an audiophile in need of fewer than 2000 speaker pins, we suggest that you consider the Audioquest BP10 Pin . Gold plated connectors We make cables for REL subs all the time. • Discontinued Products | Cardas Audio

Having started in 1987, there are a number of cables that we have discontinued in favor of newer, improved designs. Discontinued Cardas cables include Hexlink, Quadlink, Cross, Golden Cross, Neutral Reference, Golden Presence, Golden Reference, and Clear Light. A Look Into The Past Discontinued Cardas Products Hexlin k One of the earliest Cardas cable lines, Hexlink went through many variants in its lifespan. There was Hexlink, Hexlink Five Series, and Hexlink Golden 5C to name a few. In their time, Hexlink cables were our top-of-the-line performers. However many technical advancements over the years has allowed our entry & mid-level cables to outperform them. We'd suggest looking at Iridium or Parsec if you're considering Hexlink, but would rather get something newer. Also be aware that there are a lot of fake Hexlink cables out there. We've had good luck with eBay removing fraudulent Hexlink cables. Aliexpress, however, has nothing but fakes, and refuses to address the issue. Click here to read more about counterfeit Cardas cables . Quadlink Another classic dating to the early days of Cardas, the Quadlink cables were discontinued with the release of the Parsec cable line. Quadlink included interconnect, speaker, and power cables. Parsec took similar design geometries, and incorporated higher performing conductors. Cross Cross cables sat just below our then flagship Golden Cross. There were Cross interconnect, speaker, and power cables. Golden Cross One of the most sought after second-hand Cardas cables, Golden Cross remained at the top of our cable line for many years. Revered for its warmth, musicality and richness, Golden Cross cables command high prices on the used market. Golden Cross included an interconnect and speaker cable. A closely associated power cable, Golden Power, was also offered. Today, somebody seeking a cable with similar characteristics should consider Clear Reflection . Neutral Reference This was one of the first Cardas cables to break away from the "warm" end of the spectrum, in favor of - as the name implies - total neutrality. Neutral Reference included an interconnect, phono, and speaker cable. There was even a video cable. Remember those? In our current product line, both Clear Sky and Clear Cygnus occupy similar price points once held by Neutral Reference, with improved performance. Golden Presence Seated between Neutral Reference and Golden Reference, Golden Presence never caught on a best seller. An excellent combination of neutrality and musicality, most people either spent a little less and got Neutral Reference, or splurged on Golden Reference. Typical middle-child syndrome. But a great cable if you can find it on the second hand market. Golden Presence included an interconnect and speaker cable. As with Neutral Reference, modern day cables in a similar price & performance range include Clear Sky and Clear Cygnus . Golden Reference The cable that unseated Golden Cross as the king of Cardas cables. Combining the magical richness of Golden Cross with the neutrality of Neutral Reference, Golden Reference is still a great cable by modern standards, and remains at the heart of many spectacular stereo systems. Golden Reference included interconnect, speaker, power, and phono cables. To create Clear Reflection , we borrowed the geometry of Golden Reference, and incorporated our Matched Propagation conductors. Clear Light After developing Matched Propagation Conductors and creating Clear interconnect and speaker cables , George Cardas worked on a way of bringing similar performance to a lower price point. Coming up with a simplified conductor design, he made Clear Light interconnect and speaker cable. And eventually Clear Light headphone cable. Further developing and improving upon this conductor design lead to Clear Sky and Clear Cygnus . Unfortunately, Clear Light counterfeits have infiltrated the second-hand market. Unlike most counterfeits, these really look correct. Including the packaging and product literature. These fool us in pictures, and even in person... until we cut them open. What's inside is garbage wire. But on the outside, it all looks legit. So be very careful when considering second-hand Clear Light interconnect and speaker cables. Crosslink 6X and Crosslink 8X Both of these were variants of our Crosslink Speaker Cable , with 6 and 8 conductors, respectively. HD MI HDMI is a moving target, having already gone through several standards, with more surely on the horizon. As a small manufacturer, investing in the production of a product that might be obsolete in a year (or less) is dangerous territory. Our speciality and expertise is in audio. We're sticking with that. Cardas Clar ifier App We programmed the Clarifier App in-house, using cobbled together code and an HTML5 "wrapper" called Phonegap. It was an interesting learning experience. One of the main things we learned is that the people who charge $10,000+ to write mobile apps are not necessarily charging too much. We also learned that short of publishing a viral app, it would take about 100 years to start profiting from an app, when you take the cost (or time) of programming it into account. And in those 100 years, there are going to be OS updates and app-store requirements that force you to update your app, thereby putting you further behind in your efforts just to break even. Suffice to say that Apple & Android OS updates made Phonegap obsolete, which put us in a position of having no choice but to either start from scratch, or abandon the project. No compromise, ultra high performance audio cables. Intended for the ultimate high-end systems, properly set up, in perfect listening rooms. Clear Beyond "A friend brought his Clear Beyond speaker cable over and insisted I try it with my Alexx V’s. I was reluctant. I was using the ‘correct’ cable (according to my dealer) for the speaker. But to appease my friend, I gave the Cardas cable a try. I was immediately blown away. I lost no detail, but gained so much body and fullness. I had no idea what these speakers were capable of. Gauge: 8x26.5 AWG Outside Diameter: 0.511”/13mm Beyond Phono X2 Clear Beyond Phono X2 Headphone One of our most challenging and extensive R&D projects has finally come to fruition. The Clear Beyond Headphone Cable project began due to the prodding from a handful of loyal customers who wanted to see us push the envelope, and outdo our vener- able Clear Headphone Cable. This was no small task, and took several years. Clear Headphone Cable required the development of the first miniaturized concentricMatched Propagation Conductor, which presented challenges in both production and termination. Once those were conquered, we had a cable that expanded the performance of every headphone on which we tried it. But the idea of taking it to the next step was daunting. We began, naturally, by looking at ways to improve the conductor. Taking cues from Clear Beyond Interconnect, we refined the stranding and braiding, creating a finer arrangement of Grade 1 Ultra Pure Cardas Copper wire. This yielded notable improvements, but we knew we could take it further by doing something we’ve never done before - adding silver. Our all new Hybrid Metallurgy Matched Propagation Conductor features a 30 awg strand of Cardas Grade 1 Silver Wire, in addition to the many improve- ments we’ve made from the starting point of Clear Headphone Cable. Theresults are spectacular. As with Clear Headphone, Clear Beyond Headphone has two separate cables, one for each channel. Braided blue & black thread, and joined together with beautiful hardware to give it “the look” it deserves. Standard Termination: There are too many options available to list them all. Please contact us to learn about the newest additions to our large selection of headphone terminations. • Adaptors | Cardas Audio

High quality audio adapters. RCA to XLR, 1/4" to RCA, 6.355mm to RCA, and many other options and custom adaptors are available. Adaptors High Quality Solutions To Connectivity Issues Adapters Adaptors We make nearly any audio adapter for which connectors exist. Our most popular are RCA/XLR adapters. However we make many other varieties. Since our adapters are made to order, custom wiring configurations are always possible. Our standard adapters use Cardas connectors when possible, mated with Neutrik XLRs. Our premium Clear adapters use all-Cardas parts. A few notes about adaptors: 1. The standard for female XLR to female RCA adapters is for pins 1 & 3 not to be shorted. All other adaptor configurations (male XLR to female RCA, etc.) have pins 1 & 3 shorted unless otherwise requested . Most equipment prefers (or requires) adaptors with the standard wiring. Some equipment requires that pins 1 & 3 not be shorted. Your owners manual should tell you if such an adaptor is required. Cardas Audio does not have a list of equipment that requires and/or does not require that your adapters have pins 1 & 2 shorted . Only your manual, or the manufacturer, can answer that. 2. Adaptors can vary in appearance depending on when they are made. We do not update our images for every subtle aesthetic variation. Please do not rely upon photographs on this page or on a dealer's page to determine if your adaptors are genuine Cardas. Simply purchase your Cardas adaptors from an authorized dealer , and rest assured they are authentic. Our authorized dealers do not sell counterfeits. 3. Only use adaptors if they are absolutely necessary. If your streamer has RCA outputs and your pre-amp has RCA and XLR inputs, do not use an adapter so that you can use your pre-amp's XLR inputs. There is nothing magical or special about XLR connections. If you can connect your compoents RCA to RCA, do it. If you have to connect an RCA-only component to an XLR-only component, congratulations, you are one of the few people who actually needs an adaptor. Below is a list of our most commonly requested adapters. If you don't see what you're looking for in the list, we can probably make it anyway. As long as the connectors exists, Cardas can make an adapter out of them. Just inquire with our tech support team .
